VDB Finger Control Surface 8 — Compact 8-channel control surface for Sound Devices 8-Series recorders. This USB controller is designed for the most demanding productions, thanks to its aluminum and PA-12 nylon chassis. It has 8 channels with trims (with end stops) on rotary potentiometers, dust-proof faders, and PFLs.

The Finger 8 is available in two versions, tailored to the fader resistance preferred by the operator to best suit their preferences and working conditions:

Product Overview

The interface has dedicated commands for record, stop, slate mic and a shortcut for arming and disarming individual tracks. PFL and Arm status for all tracks, Rec/Stop, and Slate mic status are displayed using LEDs on the front panel of the controller.

It also offers a rotary master fader, that can be mapped to any bus or output of the 8-Series Mixer-Recorder, and 5 custom buttons that can be assigned to various functions including Com Send/Returns, Circle/false take, or assigning faders to buses or outs.

The 8 channels of the FCS-8 make it particularly suited for bag use with the 833, on productions where the equipment must remain light and durable. The FCS-8 uses the MIDI MCU protocol, and is compatible with most DAWs for studio use.

Additionally, the design of the FCS-8 allows users to easily replace the faders, whether for new ones or to customize their setup. True to our values, the FINGER 8 has been designed to be easily repairable and its components replaceable to ensure an extended lifespan.
